Skin care for Pitta People


There are three type of people in nature Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

Pitta people displays the inherent characteristics of fire(agni) element. Pitta type of people have lot of body heat. Their skin is delicate and prone to acne, rashes, bruises and sunburn. They have an aversion to hot weather, sunlight and heat.


Skin care Routine


1.   Cleansing

Take equal amount of each oatmeal, sandalwood powder, and rosewater and lemon juice, mix well and apply to damp skin leaving the area around eye. Wipe off gently after a few minutes and rinse with water to avoid acne and blemishes.


2   Massage


Remedy 1

Use neem oil or sandalwood oil for massage.

Remedy 2

Almond powder (1 tablespoon)
Yogurt (1/4 cup)
Honey (1 tablespoon)
Lemon juice or fresh aloe era juice (1 tablespoon)

Mix well and massage gently.


3  Steaming

A warm compress is better than streaming for Pitta people.
For warm compress use boiled water with coriander seeds. Then dip a cotton cloth in warm water, squeeze it lightly and apply it over the face.


4 Nourishing and Toning

Mask
Red lentil powder (Masoor dal) (2 tablespoon)
Rice flour (2 teaspoon)
Oatmeal (2 teaspoon)
Milk (quantity required to make paste)


Mix all and apply paste all over the face then leave for 20 minutes. Then dap the face with milk and massage with fingertips in circular motion. Wash with normal water.

Note - Toning water for Pitta person
Either use Basil(tulsi) or Rose water.


5  Moisturizing


Daytime Moisturizer

Aloe era gel( 2 tablespoons)
Watermelon pulp (1 tablespoon)
Lemon juice (1 tablespoon)


Mix all and refrigerate for 20 minutes. Apply on face and neck, leave for 30 minutes then wash off.

Nighttime Moisturizer

Use sandalwood oil or ghee (clarified butter) for moisturizing at night.
